List of Accomplishments:
AIM began in 1990 as a domestic mission effort of Churches of Christ in Southeast Atlanta where the largest concentration of poor reside in Georgia.
In 1993 we established Lakewood Church of Christ which averages 100 in attendence. In 1995 AIM purchased property for the church and ministry. AIM has weekly Bible studies for children, youth, men, women, and a Recovery Group.
Also, food and clothing distribution and summers day camp and Youth Camp.
Future Goals:
To develop leadership within the church with evangelistic, compassionate, and spiritually mature Christians. To expand ministries to children and youth and especially ministry to the poor in Southeast Atlanta. We believe by living out the Great Commandment God will open the hearts of the hurting to fulfil the Great Commission.
Current Needs:
AIM needs additional volunteers in the Recovery Ministry; teaching ministry to children, youth and adults; the mercy ministry to the poor, hurting, and downtrodden; and the evangelistic ministry in Lakewood Heights and surrounding public housing developments.
Since 1999 our financial support has diminished and we pray for additional financial support for the needy in Southeast Atlanta.
Additional Information:
AIM has several sponsoring congregations within Atlanta, Georgia. The Director and Evangelist and other staff serve under the eldership and mission leadership of Campus Church of Christ in Norcross, Georgia.
