Would Jesus smoke in front of children? Would Jesus mentor
us a lifestyle with addictions?
Surely not. O, surely not.
God has purposed we are to be "conformed to the image of His Son" (Romans 8:29).
We simply ask that we submit our lives completely to his example.
Anyone with addictions who comes to the Lord and wants to worship with us, we will receive with open arms, and we must work together to break those bonds of destruction and forsake them. The Lord commands his children to encourage one another and to transform themselves to His example.
Focus on who Jesus is. Adopt His values. Adopt His example. Become that example. (Don't cheat and compromise with how the world behaves.) Then, encourage others to Jesus by mentoring to them His example.
Commitment to Jesus means commitment to change in values and behavior. Commitment to Jesus means commitment to victory. Nothing less.
Thanks! God bless you towards making that difficult
step!
