YOUTH & FAMILY LIFE MINISTER- Waterford, MI Position available as of February 2013 Job Description: The Youth & Family Life Minister position is a full-time opportunity for a Christian man seeking a Church of Christ ministry position with opportunity to grow in scope as experience is gained. This position has a primary focus on grades 6-12 but will also include coordination of activities from kindergarten through young adult. Responsibilities: The Youth & Family Life Minister will be expected to work approximately 40 hours per week with members of the youth group, grades six through twelve. The Youth & Family Life Minister should spend time each week working on and/or planning the following activities: • Facilitate the weekly youth devotional (to occur at times other than during regularly scheduled congregational services) • Teach Sunday and Wednesday night Bible class (as needed) • Organize and facilitate regularly planned recreational activities • Organize and facilitate service activities (e.g., God’s Helping Hands, nursing home, Pontiac Rescue Mission, etc.) • Meet with Elders on a regular basis to discuss the youth & family ministry program • Mentor youth and attend activities in which our youth are involved, as time permits (e.g., sporting events, plays, musicals, etc.) • Work within the budget (as provided by the Elders) • Plan and publish an activities calendar • Attend Youth Rallies or Youth Mission Trips • Assist with the Lads to Leaders program activities Qualifications: It is preferred that the candidate be married and have a Bachelor’s degree, preferably relating to ministry. He should also have a strong interest in working with youth and families. A young Christian woman in our congregation received some good news last week. Her name is Khiry Dye. She is 22 years old and has been on dialysis since last year. The good news is that her sister is a match and will be able to donate a kidney to her. We are writing to you because the hospital requires $3,000 before they will begin the surgery preparation. An account has been set up at Pinnacle Bank here in Elberton, Georgia to collect donations for this purpose. Khiry is a lovely young woman and a treasured member of the Campbell Street congregation.
