The Lord is working in Crystal City, Texas
January 07, 1999 Dear Beloved Family of God: The doors of heaven are wide open for all of us as we all do our best to win countless numbers of lost souls to Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. I bring you all good news from Crystal City, Texas that will give joy and exciting encouragement to your soul. Within the first eleven days of re-establishing the Lord's holy church in Crystal City, Texas we have had twenty-four souls visit us for worship and bible study. The Lord is truly working, and the prayers of many Christians are being answered on our behalf. With God's help it is our goal to have about 50 people worshipping the Lord with us within the next six months and were are almost halfway there in just eleven exciting days. By January 1, 2000 our goal is to have an attendance of 100 people, and an attendance of 250 by January 1, 2001. With the powerful hand of Almighty God we will be able to reach these goals as we continue to stand on His promises as we walk by faith in Jesus Christ our Lord and Master. We were blessed last Wednesday night with a great Bible Study regarding the life of Christ. I have begun presenting a series of lessons regarding the "Vision of Jesus and His Life on Earth". This series is being presented on Sunday evenings and continued on Wednesday nights in order to get people to visit us on both evenings and this approach is successfully working for us. The people of Crystal City hunger for the truth and knowledge of Jesus Christ our Master and Teacher, and I truly believe that this message will win many lost souls to Christ. This is the same approach that I have used in the past with great success, and I encourage all of our Preachers, Evangelist, and Elders who preach and teach the Gospel of Christ to consider preaching more and more about the Lord Jesus Christ in our pulpits worldwide. Jesus must remain the center of our sermons if we are to grow in Christ. The churches must become more Christ centered in order to build up one another and to win the lost. Yesterday morning I was invited to preach at the Mount Olive Baptist Church. The preacher for this Baptist church lives 200 miles away, and occasionally is not able to make the trip. The gentleman that invited me to preach asked what topic I would share with them, and I told him that I would go and encourage the with "A call to New Testament Christianity". He said that would be an excellent topic for his church. He then told me not to call him a Baptist, but rather a Christian only. He also said that his entire church is considering the complete removal of the name *Baptist* from their church name and leaving it as the Mount Olive Church. He said that they have been studying the Holy Scriptures on their own when the Baptist preacher does not come to preach and they are seeing that they must follow what the Word of God teaches instead of the doctrines of man. He invited me to speak at his church this Sunday at 3:00 p.m. This is a great opportunity for us to help these believers to know the ways of the Lord in a more accurate manner. Please remember these people in your prayers. Last night a member of the Lord's church who was baptized into Christ a number of years ago said that he told his students that something wonderful happened to him over the Christmas holidays. This brother in Christ is a football and basketball coach for the local school, and he told his students and fellow coaches that he was restored in the Lord Jesus Christ. This brother's name is Carlos Rivera, and I ask that you pray for him and his wife who is also a Christian and a local school teacher. Brother Carlos and his wife Pat are excited to have the Lord's church re-established in Crystal City, Texas. Sister Pat has another sister who also teaches at the local school, but needs to be restored in the Lord along with her Christian husband. Please pray for this other couple. I asked Brother Carlos if there were any other Christian teachers or coaches on staff, and he said no. I then asked him what he thought about the possibility of recruiting other Christian teachers and coaches who would be willing to work in the Crystal City School District and in our congregation. His eyes reflected the tremendous joy in his heart, and he said "brother that would be the greatest thing to do for this community." I then told him that I would attempt to begin recruiting other Christian teachers and coaches who would be interested in working in this open mission field that is ready for the harvest. If you are a school teacher or a coach that enjoys working as a missionary at the same time I pray that you would consider moving to Crystal City, Texas and help us win a city full of lost souls to Christ. Your talents as a school teacher or a coach along with your love of Christ are needed in this mission field. Please call or write me if you would be interested in this exciting soul winning opportunity. The children and parents of this community will love you for it, and the Lord will honor and bless you for it. Together we can rebuild Crystal City for the glory of Almighty God. Please remember me in your prayers. May the grace of God, the love of Jesus, and the peace of the Holy Spirit be with you and your family forever.
