A Wonderful Lord's Day in Crystal City, Texas
January 04, 1999 Dear Beloved Family of God: Our Father in heaven knows our needs and He is gracious and kind in blessing all of His children. The God of the Most High is faithful and He keeps His word when we walk by faith and stand upon His divine promises. The Lord Jesus has never failed us, and the Holy Spirit continues to comfort and encourage us with each step that we take towards our home in heaven. May the grace of our Everlasting Father be with all of His workmanship as we relentlessly strive to promote the Gospel of Christ among the lost of this immoral world. It is my prayer that this letter will serve to excite and encourage you in your evangelistic efforts. Yesterday we had a total of 15 people in our Sunday morning worship service and 9 in our Sunday evening service. Within the first eight days of working for the Lord Jesus Christ in Crystal City, Texas we have had a total of 24 people attend our church services. Everyone here is every excited about our potential. It my goal to have an attendance of 50 people within six moths, but that goal may be reached within 2 months at this rate. We all desire to see our auditorium filled which can hold up to 250 people comfortably. It is our goal to have the building filled by January 1, 2001, and these goals are attainable. I plan to begin a radio program within the next two weeks that will air Monday through Friday. This will be a one hour program with 30 minutes programmed in Spanish and 30 minutes programmed in English. The people of Crystal City, Texas are some of the nicest people that I have met on the planet. The political problems of the 1960's and early 1970's are all past, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ will serve to heal the wounds and scars that have been suffered by many here in Crystal City. We have a tremendous opportunity here to win many people to the Lord Jesus Christ, and will also have an opportunity to draw the denominational churches to the pattern of New Testament Christianity. Tomorrow we will be traveling to Uvalde, Texas to buy eleven exterior doors and other building supplies that are needed for our Annex that houses our bible classrooms for the children and for the preacher's residence where I now live. It is a blessing to be actively involved in the local work of the Lord's church, and I encourage each of you to get more involved in your home churches. Please remember me in your prayers. May the grace of God, the love of Jesus, and the peace of the Holy Spirit be with you and your family forever. Your brother in Christ Jesus, Silbano Garcia, II.Evangelist Church of Christ P.O.
